Look at this groovy needlepoint craft book! The cover is a little scary, but there are some lovely projects in it. I'm working on a bargello-style needlepoint right now, which I'm really enjoying. I hope to finish it this weekend. Now, I have to get ready for a date afternoon/night with my husband :)
(This book is now in my shop)

I'm so excited. I want to try needlepoint and have been trying to track down supplies to do so. I was going to buy the cotton canvas online, but decided to wait until I checked one last craft store (a locally owned shop). Thank goodness I checked. The cost was only $7 a yard compared to the $46 a quarter yard I was going to pay online. I do have to get the tapestry yarn online, but that's OK. I hope to make some wall hangings and pillows. I can't wait to get started!

I found two more Make it Yourself books (1975) to add to my collection. I think I have five books from their series so far. Love them- SO 1970's. Each book covers a variety of crafts, sewing, crochet, etc. One book actually has a latch hook bedspread which is quite hideous! But there are some awesome ideas in these books, like their embroidery and bead weaving. I'd love to try to weave a chevron bracelet out of beads. Something else for my to-do list!

Look at this awesome vintage craft book I bought at the thrift store. It's a Sunset Book from 1964 and is packed with projects to make for kids. Some of the projects are: puppets, wood scooters, kites, and a rolling lemonade stand. But what I love the most are the dollhouses. Look at that revolving house - and that furniture is amazing!

It's been many years since I've made a God's Eye. I remember making these using yarn in Sunday school as a child. I found a vintage craft book and it inspired me to try it again. I used embroidery floss and a small wood dowl. It was a fun little craft to make. I love looking at old craft books remembering crafts I (or my mom) made years ago.

My finds from the thrift store over the weekend. Loving the macrame books. There are some cool ideas for macrame belts and owl hangings which I may have to try out. My little shopping buddy and I are off for some more thrifting!
